In December 2017 the Environment Agency announced their 3-year plan to deliver a 1m LIDAR dataset that covers the whole of England. Fast forward to today and they’ve released their first batch of data from the 17/18 winter flying season (they fly in winter because of less leaves in the trees to block the laser pulses). I personally can’t wait for 100% coverage!
First #LIDAR data from our 1m National Coverage project is AVAILABLE NOW https://t.co/NPuDqYQrAS. Data from 2017/18 winter flying season is live in multiple formats inc. DTM, DSM, first return, intensity & point cloud. For more info. https://t.co/z7Xzyym5sx #opendata @envagency pic.twitter.com/UM5EZ6j6xi
